iigata Women's College (NWC) is among the largest public junior colleges in Japan. Established in 1963, it offers two-year Associates Degrees from 5 academic departments (with an Advanced Course in Food and Nutrition Science). HISTORY
April 23, 1963 Construction and Foundation of the College. Establishment of the Department of Domestic Science, with majors in Clothing and Textiles, and Food and Nutrition. April 1, 1966 Establishment of: the Department of English; and the Department of Early Childhood Education. March 3, 1971 Construction of the Affiliated Kindergarten. April 1, 1993 Construction of the New Building, including the new library. Establishment of the Department of International Studies. The Department of Domestic Science becomes the Department of Human Life and Environmental Science, adding a major in Social Welfare. April 1, 1995 Establishment of the Advanced Course of Food and Nutrition Science.
